Camps

Our themed residential camps cram as much into the programme as possible…and all with the added twist of crazy games, discussions groups, t-shirts and fantastic leaders. There’ll always be a chance to get out on our regular activities – sailing, kayaking, rafting, tunnelling, archery, assault course plus much more. Each camp will have a speaker who’ll lead daily, fun and relevant talks for the whole camp, plus time for sung worship, prayer and of course, discussions. These camps really are a place where life-long friendships and memories are made. Many children move their way through all the camps and then, when they turn 18, come back to volunteer, work here or come along to our Reload (18-30s) events.

There’s no need to have any prior activity experience; we’ll provide all the kit and tuition. Come with a friend or come on your own – we make sure that there’s plenty of opportunity to mix and make friends from Day 1.

THE LOWDOWN

Right from the off, the young people who come to a CYE Summer Camp are welcomed warmly by our huge team of staff and wonderful volunteers. Campers are settled into their rooms before being introduced to how the camp will unfold.  Here’s the LOWDOWN for those who’ve never been on camp before.

  • COSY CABINS – the cabins are really comfortable, mostly with 2 bunk beds and all with ensuite shower rooms and toilet.  If you come with your friends you can request to be in a cabin with those you know – and it’s usually a great time to get to know some new friends too.
  • CARING ADULTS – as well as the team who have been onsite through the year, we have a huge team of volunteers who come to CYE for camp season.  All of these guys love CYE dearly – having been here on their own trainee years, or, maybe have been to summer camps throughout their teen years…they’re connected in a myriad of ways – and they all have something to share with the young people who come along.  Our volunteers are on hand to help with maximising fun but also to ensure that the young people who come on camp feel nurtured – for some it’s their first time away from home.  The team will help campers to access everything they need while they’re here.

  • FUN – this CANNOT be described in words – there’s an atmosphere of fun on CYE camps that, many feel, is unrivalled anywhere else.  Everyone is included, and the FUN varies so widely there’s always something for everyone – the sound of joy and laughter is a ‘usual’ background noise during summer camp season.

  • VARIED FOOD – all needs are catered for by our INCREDIBLE onsite galley team who are dedicated, each day, to providing healthy, delicious, varied, AMAZING meals and snacks.  There’s usually an element of fun thrown in to the creativity of the food too, sometimes banquets, picnics, parties – varied according to the chosen theme for the camp.
  • SPIRITUAL INPUT –all through the season the team are getting ready to share with the young people who will come on camp – praying, growing and considering how they can communicate the good things they’re finding in their relationships with God.   This is fundamental in seeing the young people who come to CYE gain confidence in their own personal walk with God, that feels fresh and exciting and equips them for their lives outside of summer camp.

Please feel free to call, or email us with any questions you have.  We also welcome people who want to come and visit CYE before they come along to camp – to get a feel for the site, where you’ll be staying, what you’ll be doing and to meet the team who you’ll get to know more as you spend time here.
