ReLoad (18-30s)

What is ReLoad?

ReLoad is our programme of events and discipleship for 18-30s.  Many of our team and volunteers are made up of people in this age and so we wanted to run some events where we’re able to grapple with our own faith and life questions. University, jobs, choosing churches, friendships, relationships, tough life circumstances can all result in us needing a place to wrestle with the big questions. ReLoad is a place to do that – to be honest and real in where you’re at in your relationship with God; be that all guns blazing or not given it a thought in forever.

CYE is always a place that attracts people who love the outdoors and so all ReLoad events have some form of outdoor activities – be that surfing, climbing and cliff top walking in Devon or sailing and kayaking at our CYE events. You don’t need any experience or equipment and you don’t have to do any of the activities if you don’t want to. There’s also a good amount of tasty food – cream teas, BBQs, s’mores etc. We always have a couple of sessions of talk, prayer and worship through the weekend and a bunch of the team who are willing to chat about the nitty gritty of life (and just have a good laugh and throw a frisbee on the beach!).

This is the verse we felt drawn to when we prayed about ReLoad – we like that it’s about doing the journey of faith together rather than alone or with one person having all the answers:

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts
Colossians 3:16

Our Facebook page is kept up to date with news and photos so join the group.

Cost of events

‘We understand that if you’re a student, just starting out, in work or some other reason, you might not be able to afford much, but we don’t want that to be a reason you don’t come to ReLoad.  See the event details for information on various finance options available.  Please also consider our bursary which can award up to 50% off the full price. The bursary forms go through a separate administration and so the ReLoad organisers won’t know who has received one so please don’t feel awkward! (Please get your form in with plenty of time though, we won’t be able to award bursaries at the last minute)

What will we be doing?

Each event will be slightly different but will always include the following. You can find out more specifics on the booking pages or on the Facebook page/event

Talks – A focal point to any ReLoad weekend is hearing God’s word.  We will having 2  or 3 main talks during the weekend as well as worship, prayer and discussion time.  Our hope and prayer is to make the talks and speakers as relevant, engaging and inspiring as possible so that you can leave CYE spiritually refreshed, challenged and hungry.

Worship – If you play an instrument and would like to be involved in a worship band, let us know.  Similarly if you would like to lead the worship for the weekend, we would love to hear from you.

Activities – At CYE this will include sailing, kayaking, tunnelling, pub trips, walks, bonfire etc. Our Devon trip offers activities such as surfing, kayaking, coasterring, climbing and always stunning walks on beaches and cliff tops. All water activities are dependent on the weather…sadly we can’t guarantee exactly what waves or wind there’ll be but we’ll always get outside whatever the weather.

Food –   Lots of it and always tasty.  All dietary requirements catered for…as long as you tell us in advance!

Relax – For lots pf people, catching up with friends and relaxing will be a big part of the weekend.  None of the activities are compulsory, so if blasting around the water is not your thing, grab a coffee or head out for a walk and just slow down and re-charge.

SWAGs – On every ReLoad event there will be a bunch of people who are available for prayer, chat, banter, discussion and advice. This is our SWAG team (Sharing Wisdom Across Generations). They’re amazing – and you’ll love them!
