ReLoad (18-30s)
What is ReLoad?
Reload is the name we’ve given to our 18-30s events which, over the years, have taken many different shapes at different locations but have always been really popular.
These everts are valuable spaces for us to come together to focus on our faith, grapple with big questions, find encouragement & support, and experience the benefits of taking time out of the normal pace of life to re-centre ourselves in our relationship with God.
In true CYE fashion there are also plenty of opportunities on these breaks for wild activities, good home-made food and times to chill with friends.
Central to each event is our desire to share wisdom across generations. The team who run the events are passionate about sharing their hearts and bringing encouragement to those who want to dig deep into the parts of life that are bringing questions and needing help or direction.
This is the verse we felt drawn to when we prayed about ReLoad – we like that it’s about doing the journey of faith together rather than alone or with one person having all the answers:
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts
Colossians 3:16
ReLoad Devon
One of the staple events across the years has been our ReLoad event in October at St George’s House in North Devon. We have got to know the team at this activity centre and just love what they have to offer – it’s become a bit of a home-from-home for us at CYE.
With lots of wild and fun activities – including surfing, coasteering, mountain biking, kayaking, climbing – St. George’s House provide the equipment and instruction needed for even beginners to be confident to have a go. And if you don’t fancy those, the beautiful surrounding countryside is perfect for walkers and explorers and local cafes and shops are great for cream teas, coffees, and general pottering.
Good food is very important to us and so we take special care to provide plenty of great meals and snacks throughout the weekend, catering for any dietary needs you might have too. Plus, there are a couple of great pubs in strolling distance from the centre so evenings are taken care of between these, bonfires, meetings, and games.
Cost of events
We understand that if you’re a student, just starting out, in work or some other reason, you might not be able to afford much, but we don’t want that to be a reason you don’t come to ReLoad. We do our best to keep the cost to you at a very minimum but please see the event details for information on various finance options available. Do also consider our bursary which can award up to 50% off the full price. The bursary forms go through a separate administration and so the ReLoad organisers won’t know who has received one so you don’t need to feel awkward! (Please get your form in with plenty of time though, we won’t be able to award bursaries at the last minute).

ReLoad, the lowdown
ReLoad will always include all of the ingredients below. You can find out more specifics on the booking pages or on the Facebook page/event
Talks – A focal point to ReLoad weekend is hearing God’s word. We will having 2 or 3 main talks during the weekend as well as worship, prayer and discussion time. Our hope and prayer is to make the talks and speakers as relevant, engaging and inspiring as possible so that you can leave CYE spiritually refreshed, challenged and hungry.
Worship – If you play an instrument and would like to be involved in the worship, let us know. Similarly if you would like to lead the worship for the weekend, we would love to hear from you.
Activities – Our Devon trip offers activities such as surfing, kayaking, coasteering, climbing and always stunning walks on beaches and cliff tops. All water activities are dependent on the weather…sadly we can’t guarantee exactly what waves or wind there’ll be but we’ll always get outside whatever the weather.
Other ReLoad events will have activities too, which vary according to what’s on offer at each location. Look at the event for more details.
Food – Lots of it and always tasty. All dietary requirements catered for…as long as you tell us in advance!
Relax – For lots of people, catching up with friends and relaxing will be a big part of the weekend. None of the activities are compulsory, so if blasting around the water is not your thing, grab a coffee or head out for a walk and just slow down and re-charge.
SWAGs – On every ReLoad event there will be a bunch of people who are available for prayer, chat, banter, discussion and advice. This is our SWAG team (Sharing Wisdom Across Generations). They’re amazing – and you’ll love them!
